About Overlap

Overlap is a 2D puzzle game designed exclusively for single-player. In Overlap, players solve puzzles using the pieces provided. To complete a level, players must drag the shapes to the correct spot on the grid in the center of the screen. However, they must choose the right combination of shapes and colors. Overlapping the shapes is necessary to complete the levels presented to you. The game consists of several levels. The game’s color palette is based on the three primary colors and their various shades, achieved through the opacity settings we’ve adjusted.

Controls : 

- Click left : pick up and put down the piece onto the grid

- Click right : rotate the pieces 90 degrees

- Esc : open the pause menu

Tools Used 

- Grid System : automatic generation and management of cells used to position game elements. 

- Movement System : allows objects to be selected, moved, and positioned using the mouse. 

- Rotation System : allows objects to change their orientation while being moved. 

- Automatic Placement System : detects the closest grid cell and automatically aligns the object with the grid. 

- Level Validation System : checks the position, shape, and orientation of the objects to determine whether the level has been completed. 

- Level Management : creation of multiple scenes and management of progression between levels. 

- User Interface (UI) : creation of menus, buttons, panels, and other interface elements. 

- Audio System : management of sound effects and sounds associated with different interactions. 

- Particle System : creation of visual effects to provide feedback during important events. 

- Scene Management : use of Unity's scene system to manage menus and game levels. 

- 2D Sprites : creation and integration of the graphical elements used in the game. 

- Event Management : use of user interactions to trigger different actions within the game.
